Role : Business Analyst – Lead, P&C Application Rationalization Discovery
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end discovery for an assigned wave of ~50 applications in the P&C estate
- Direct a pool of mid-level BAs and acting as the primary escalation point to engagement/architecture leadership
- Direct L2/L3 process-to-IT mapping for the wave and validate outputs before sign-off
- Lead identification of process gaps and automation/integration opportunities, translating findings into recommendations aligned to the modernized target IT estate
- Drive process flow/user journey documentation and integration mapping across the wave's applications.
- Lead functional consolidation analysis on validated documentation, identifying redundant workflows and consolidation candidates.
- Own delivery of clickable prototypes for wave applications shortlisted as "rewrite," coordinating with UX/design.
- Ensure quality, consistency, and traceability of discovery deliverables across the wave; report status and risks to the engagement lead.
Must-Have Skills
- 8+ years as a Business Analyst/Business Architect in P&C insurance, with direct exposure to at least two of: underwriting, new business, claims, producer/distribution, compliance.
- Proven experience leading discovery/BA teams on application rationalization, modernization, or legacy transformation programs.
- Strong hands-on skill in L2/L3 process mapping, BRD authoring, and requirements elicitation from SMEs and legacy systems with little or no documentation.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to direct and mentor mid-level BAs.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience with tool-based reverse engineering/documentation platforms.
- Experience with UX/clickable prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Axure).
- CBAP/IIBA or TOGAF certification.
- Exposure to IBM BPM, Salesforce, or SharePoint/PowerApps in an insurance context.
